I'm not sure 9.29.12 could arrive fast enough. Aimee & Brian have been planning their day together for nearly a year now. They wanted it personal, to represent them - and most importantly - in the sand! Planning all the way from the Sacramento Valley, Mendocino seemed like the perfect location for their Destination Wedding - considering it's home to several members of the Shaw Family & they've been there many times enjoying all the Coast has to offer.
I met Aimee & her beautiful Bridesmaids at the picturesque Little River Inn to get dressed. How sweet is it that her hairdresser hails all the way from Sacramento & recalls styling the Brides' hair when she was just 4 yrs old for her Father's Wedding? Surrounding yourself with 'Family' like this is what makes your special day that much more memorable...as well as locals flying in for a Peek!
A little sumpin'-sumpin' for the Reception...!
Being avid outdoors & sportsmen/women, it was positively fitting Aimee had their Wedding date + location coordinates sewn into her gown...
When we first met for their Engagement Session, they already knew that their Photos were one of the most important things to them about their day. Which meant they wanted to see each other prior to the Wedding & allow plenty of time for Bride & Groom Formals! YAY!!
Our 1st stop was Cypress Grove on the Mendocino Headlands. With another Wedding fully set up for later in the day - and the winds whipping the ocean mist up onto the Bluffs - we decided to keep it quick. But, it was so fun & easy-going spending that time together just the 4 of us...THANK YOU!
There we go - a little shelter from the storm...in the arms of her man...
We sort of interrupted a Frisbee session to take over some shade...oops! Sorry, guys & doggies!
Back at the Ceremony location, the Bridal Party was waiting for their turn! They had been working so hard to keep the Alter where it needed to be...Mother Nature tends to move things from time to time via Ocean Tides! But, no worries - it just makes for a PERFECT story to go right along with their Beach-Themed day! "-)
There it is! Barefoot in the sand!
SOOO how I'd do it if I had the chance again!!
LOVE those adorable 'sandals' of hers!!
By now - it was a fun, relaxed feel - but, we couldn't forget a little something...
let's go ahead & get Married!
I love when the Bride & Groom are able to create their own details throughout the day...
EVERYTHING was hand done themselves! xoxox
Oh yes - it was foggy...it rolled in....
...and just as quickly, it rolled out...
It's now time to head over to the charming Crown Hall in Mendocino to embark on a little Journey to the Sea...
When you start to choke up during your 'Thank You's?' - your new Brides' got your back!
HEY! Those pictures up on the wall look familiar...they're OURS! It was one of those 'Wait!!...WE took those? We actually do this for REAL?!' moments!
Sharon Robinson is one of the top Cake artisans we've worked with...always a treat!
Right now, Brian & Aimee are most likely snuggled into a charming Newlywed Suite overlooking the sparkling waters somewhere in Thailand...embracing yet another Adventure together on their Journey in this life. CONGRATULATIONS, you sweet & adorable & amazing couple, you! I hope your Life together is as Flawless as your Wedding day turned out to be! Simply PERFECT! xo
